Just a question. Is there a way (if it doesn't already exist) to create a means for duplicating armor design? Not the class or the enchanments, etc... but just the visual design. I like to put a fair amount of effort into getting a characters armor to look just right. Sometimes, initially, this can take hours (over a period of sessions... tweaking, etc). When I get new armor I have to start all over again. It can be really, really difficult to get it exactly as it was and can, again, take hours. I know in NwN1 there were scripts to allow such things but have not looked in NwN2 yet. I'd envision something like 2 boxes side by side. You would place your old armor in one box, your new armor in the other, pull a lever and the script does the rest... right down to the colors. Not only would this remove a huge headache for folks like me it would also help those in factions/sects that have uniforms or dress codes.
Anyhow... just a thought!
Armor Duplication?

That's a great idea. I'm sure it can be scripted, but I wouldn't know the first thing about how to tackle it. If you could find a link to or source for the scripts you were referring to, that might help.

I totally would like to see something like this.
Im sick of granite hunting in his harmonium outfit because i used to change it EVERY time i went hunting lol.
Finally was like screw this, ill stay in it.
I like this idea the only thing is, for facton Vs hunting you would have to pay a quick stop to the apperance changer to swap back and forth unless the script can be given to an item in every characters inventory so we could do it right where you stand?
(Of course its not advised people do this or it should be but)

actually a good idea.
From level 1-now shiv has changed armour but not appearance of armour. I know sneaky sneaky. :D
So even though it looks the same its been improving as he leveled and acquired better stuff. Being able to Dupe the appearance between armours would be handy.
I thought someone was seeking to dupe items by topic this is a whole lot better then that and something extremely useful

A server I played on in NWN1 could do this. Through a conversation script, you would "store" an item appearance. Then you'd equip the new item and use the conversation person to load the stored appearance onto the new equipment.
I suspect it worked via storing the numerical value of each armor part into a variable and then writing those onto the new gear. As I recall, it didn't do colors, though.

Nearly every NWN1 server I played on aside from my first had a crafting system available where the equipment was duplicated onto an NPC, adjusted, then copied back onto your character when complete (sometimes for a fee, sometimes not). I'm honestly surprised there's not something similar for NWN2.

We're looking into this.
As noted, if anyone has any links to scripts that could be considered for use or modification to serve this purpose, please link or copy them here. (If copying, please use the code tags to contain the script.)

Ah, yes 'armor appearance'. We have dismissed those claims.Fell Star,Apr 22 2010 wrote: We're looking into this.

That's actually described in the Appearance Changer script - there're some complications that make it not quite possible to alter 'belts' that way through the changer. Which is unfortunate, since that's where some of the things like quivers are.Swiftbow,Apr 24 2010 wrote: Now that I've talked about it, I'm going to see if I can script it.
Besides which, it'd be awesome if we could craft belts on armor, too.
