wrote:I have to report a threat against my life and assault upon a public officer of the Red Death in the bazaar today. One Krall Dreadblade, 'captain' of some tub or other, was being most infantile and abrasive to some companions I was speaking to. I pointed out that his predictable behavior was unwelcome and the pirate lapsed into verbal insults and childish tirades for nearly an hour while we talked. I did not engage him in conversation after the initial point of telling him his advances were unwanted, but he approached and dumped an unidentified liquid over myself in the public square. I had not intended to report that minor assault until he decided to threaten my life before he left.
Over the course of his temper tantrum he hinted that he wanted to kill me, but in the end he said, and I quote "Dare insult me again and your head will be mine. Got it?" Of course I corrected his near unintelligible dialect for the report. The grunts and whining that did come out took a moment to interpret upon hearing them. Of course he may have interpreted my words as insults, if calling someone predictable is an insult, but in any case it should not be permitted for a citizen to openly assault and threaten the life of an officer of the law.
Witnesses present were Zilvwae, an Ilithid female. Ril'rae, a drow female, an erynies whose name I did not get, and Alsandra who I believe is an elven woman. There were others of course, but their names or faces are not known to me. Please see that this menace not harm anyone in the Cage, or sew dissent and distrust toward the lawkeepers of the Cage.
Thank you for your time,

Reading through the report at one of his shoet visits to Sigil Hograth writes up an order to the patrols:
Another short letter is written:wrote: Officers,
try to question the accused and witnesses and if the accusations prove to be true punish the offender with a 1000 jink fine for uttering threats and the disturbance of the peace.
If he resists he is to be arrested and the whole case is will be forwarded to the courts.

Then he the Halforc prepares hiself for another trip to Arcadia- there are still some things that have to be done and he knows there are able officers in the Cage who can fill his spot....wrote: To: Kierisen Shadowshade, Namer, Mercykillers

Namer Shadowshade,
the case is being investigated. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, the cooperation between the parts of the Triad is most important in times like these.

Kiera reads the letter and nods to herself. She folds it and tucks it into her bodice to be filed away later in her room. Satisfied that justice will be served she goes about her day without another thought for Cappin Krall or the spilled alcohol.

When the note arrives at the outpost Shamus Commands in the Hive, he changes the orders given to his unit. They are to detain this Krell and investigate the accusation. If it turns out to be valid, they are to issue him a summons to appear at the courts for processing.
"Let the Guvners decide his guilt and turn him over to the Red Death if he deserves it. We're not in the business of trying and punishing... we have enough to do already"
After the order is given, he sends acknowledgement of the recieved orders along with the alteration given the unit, back to Hograth

Reading through the note Hograth grins to himself- the other Measure's reaction very typical for the gruff human.
So writes a small note to Shamus:

please remember that fining citizens for minor infractions is indeed one of our responsibilities. I am sure you know what is the best course of action for your unit but remember that cluttering Sigil's bureaucracy with minor cases will not serve our cause.
Peace through unity and strenght,
Hograth Thorn

The reply is read with a raised eyebrow
"Threatening a Triad member and a thousand jink fine... doesn't sound like a minor deal to me..." said to no one in particular
Shamus would place the reply from Hograth in the lockbox with the rest of the official communications they recieve from Command at the Barracks. No reply would be sent as one would be unnecessary at this point. A debate best left for other days. He would not change his orders already given to his unit, either way
