Does formatting in item descriptions work? I.e. color change, bold, italics, carriage return, etc. And if so, how? I tried <> tags, those don't work but fortunately they didn't show up in the description.

Italics and color work with <> tags in item descriptions. Bold as far as I remember did nothing.

I think this is relavant because there is now an Item Description Editor Widget in game. It might have some limitations on what text it can put in for "custom" item descriptions.

That's the item I'm using to change descriptions. The main thing is a carriage return to break up the long lines of text into manageable chunks.

Ah, I see. I didn't know there was one of those, I'll have to test it out then

Though I'd guess that they use [] instead of <> at least if it works in the same way as the character description changer made by Agony.

Carriage returns... not sure if it will work, but you might try the <br> tag or Alt-013. Try it on the test server so you don't eat up charges, you can find it on the DM Chooser under "Planescape Unique", and it works if you're on a DM avatar.

And Otyugh: Root-of-Nine sells it.

Line feed definitely works (alt + 010) because I've tried using it before.

Another interesting thing is that you can start writing the end of a line of text and formatting, then click to the start and finish off the start bit in order to write longer lines than will fit into the box.

Whitefly, are you saying that the description field isn't auto-wrapping? Because it was when I was testing this as a DM...
